Otira Rogue – Jazz/Funk/Soul + The Ben Maltby Trio
August 20 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm
Come support local live music people!
We are excited to share with you all a night of groovy groovy music. A spiritual awakening through soul quenching, mind expanding, face exploding, sonic goodness. Horns will be blaring, keys will make you wish you were single, synths will be farting, sexy vocal man, rhythms and bass, its all happening!! It’s going to be pretty damn funky so wear your good pants, get ready to get down, and prepare yourself to loose control of your limbs. Alternatively, just come down to have a pleasant time with some good people, have a drink and eat a crepe.
Otira Rogue is an electric blend of funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, and psychedelica, cooking up a weird feast of fresh beats to move ya feets. Smooth like jesus but sensitive as a beast. Knee deep in what the moment keeps. A fleet sailing after sleep.
The Ben Maltby Trio aims to blend the energy of a modern jazz quartet with the harmonic and timbral freedom afforded by digital instruments. The group plays Ben’s original tunes, influenced by Melbourne jazz musicians from Luke Howard to Andrea Keller, along with electronica from at home and abroad.
