City of Union, Imogen Pemberton and Trillado

  • February 18
  • Time: 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
  • When:
City of Union (indie pop)
with Imogen Pemberton (contemporary folk) and Benjamin Trillado (singer/songwriter)
City of Union is Matthew Campbell, a twenty something-year-old from Missouri, who grew up listening to The Beach Boys and singing in classic rock cover bands. But it wasn’t until he reinvented himself, as a young man living in Wellington, New Zealand that he became known as City of Union. Call him a solo artist in the vein of Beck, and also a performer whose honest tone pulls on your heart strings, as if he were Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam.

Benjamin Trillado is singer-songwriter whose songwriting takes elements from his eclectic taste in music. Influences of folk, pop, soul & r&b can be heard within his songs. His lyrical content touches on his own experiences of love, loss, family, youth and identity.

Singer-songwriter Imogen Pemberton mesmerises with lush vocals, soaring melodies and sophisticated guitar playing. Her debut EP ‘Spine’ (2016) captured her own unique vision with folk ballads that are haunting, heartfelt and raw.
