2-4 TJ CUSHING with supports Joel Martin, Tess Speldewinde
April 2 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
TJ Cushing writes story driven songs about anxiety, paranoia and famed spoon-bender Uri Geller. The characters in his songs can often be found going through their mothers’ purses for beer money and skulking around suburban parking lots.
Nostalgic for bygone eras, Tess Speldewinde delivers a selection of covers with her own take on the blues. Inspired by the melancholy sounds of Nina Simone, Etta James and Sarah Vaughan, Tess’ renditions create warmth and will have you appreciating the charm of yesteryear.
Joel Martin is most comfortable being behind a drum kit – having played in a handful of different acts over the past few years within Melbourne. Having written songs continually while playing drums, he is starting to share these with an acoustic guitar and his voice. Songs mainly of love and past heartache, he attempts to convey the emotions into his songwriting to help others through similar situations.
