2-4 Callum Gentleman + Oskar Herbig
Callum Gentleman is headed to Australia, and for his first gig in The Lucky Country he’s playing Melbourne’s Open Studio, joined by his mate Oskar Herbig.
It’s Nick Cave meets The Smiths in a dark alley where they conspire to kidnap Bob Dylan and move to New Zealand. It’s Tom Waits sharing a bottle of moonshine with Leonard Cohen at 4am. Come enjoy the rowdy blues hollas and smoky ballads
of this heart-breaking highwayman.
This New Zealand born, Melbourne based songwriter holds a stage with the finesse of a road-seasoned pro. Hitting the pub circuit before he could legally drink the rider, he was twice named a feature artist for New Zealand Music Month and collected the ASB Young Songwriter of the Year award in 2011.
As a central member of Skyscraper Stan and the Commission Flats, Oskar has appeared at pubs, festivals and theatres up and down the East Coast. Oskar’s influences are many and varied; the songs swing from eerie ballads to knee-slapping honkey-tonk, from barrelhouse to straight out rock ‘n’ roll.
His debut EP is out April 20th.
